Our third and final project newsletter is online!

The AGE FRIENDLY TOOLKIT project ended and a training programme and learning contents adressed to train “professional of reference for inclusive ageing in age-friendly cities” was developped and release in a web app platform.

Learning contents in web platform are available for free in english, denmark, spanish, dutch and italian.

The thematic areas taken in consideration are several and organized in 5 modules, based on the domains of the age-friendly cities contest:

  • built and smart environment
  • social participation
  • social inclusion & cooperation
  • civic participation & employment

The partners November and December 2024 has piloted the platform and collected the follow up from the participants, in order to finalized the web app. The piloting was conducted in each country involved in the project and it’s enrolled a total of 101 participants. Participants in the piloting phase came from a variety of professional backgrounds and roles in various fields related to care of the older people, emotional and practical support, vocational training and social policies

3’ TRANSNATIONAL PARTNER MEETING: MADRID

On 22 and 23 of January 2024, the AFC partnership met in Madrid, for the third Transnational Meeting in presence. It was a great opportunity to discuss several topics, in particular about the web app finalization and the dissemination strategy

PRESENTATION OF THE PROJECT RESULTS – MULTIPLIER EVENT

In February the learning contents and the platform was presented to experts in age-friendly environments at several event in Denmark, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands.

In general the events started with a project presentation that laid the groundwork for a productive day. External speakers enriched the event with insightful talks on Age-Friendly city and participants showed great interest in the platform learning contents The day wrapped up with networking sessions, leaving everyone inspired and eager for more.

Here below the details of organized events in each country:

ITALY – The event was held on February 25, 2025 in Bologna and 26 participants was enrolled

SPAIN The Spanish AFC-Toolkit Project’s Multiplier Event, held on February 24, 2025, at IMSERSO in Madrid, gathered 56 participants in person and online.

DENMARK The event was held on February 28, 2025 in SOSU and 26 participants attended it

NETHERLANDS

The events were as follows:

  1. Students of sociology and political science at the Goethe University Frankfurt were invited to combine a seminar with the multiplier event. The face-to- face session was held on the 12th of February in German language.
  2. Online ME (Zoom) on 18th February in Dutch language.
  3. Online ME (Zoom) on 19th February in English language.
  4. Online ME (Zoom) on 20th February in English language.

55 in total (9 face-to-face, 46 online) participated the events

Additionally, several dissemination events were successfully organized and implemented, bringing the AFC Toolkit project being visible at European level. The project was presented at the Ageing Working Group on Urban Ageing of EUROCITIES (15 January 2025) to 19 attendees, representatives of European cities (Amsterdam, Porto, Ghent, Hengelo, Frankfurt, Vienna, Bilbao, Manchester, Leeds, Utrecht, Nantes, Lyon, Braga) and the Head of Social Affairs at EUROCITIES, as well as to the 15 stakeholders attending the Ageing and Disability Working Group of ENSA – The European Network of Social Authorities, Elisan – The European Local Institution and Social Action Network in Europe. Last, the training and the project were also successfully presented to the International Federation of Ageing’s Global Café gathering the interest of the almost 100 participants gathered online from all around the world.
